7th International Congress of Medical Assessors in the Republic of Slovenia

Dear Sir, dear Madam,

In the name of the Organising Committee of the 7th International Congress of Medical Assessors of Slovenia (7MKMIS), I would like to invite you to the central event in the field of medical assessment, insurance medicine and social security in our country, which is going to take place from 11 to 12 April 2024 in Laško.

We can surely say that the expert meeting in the field of the assessment of temporary and permanent incapacity for work and occupational and employment rehabilitation has become a tradition. As always, our wish is to include all those who take part in these procedures: from doctors, who in most cases start the procedures on behalf of the patients seeking benefits from health insurance, to legal experts who manage the procedure and the judges who participate in the procedure when the legal protection of patients is questioned.

The congress is going to focus on the key topics related to the field of mental disorders, such as:

• • Absenteeism;
  • Permanent disability;
  • Interventions designed to preserve work ability;
  • Occupational and employment rehabilitation with the aim of a successful return to work.

We strongly believe that these issues are relevant today as much as they will be in the near future, if not even more.
Renowned Slovenian and foreign experts are going to present their view on the subject from medical and practical points of view. We believe that practical views on the matter based on good practices will be of extreme value for the participants and will represent an integral part of the presented content.

In addition to the medical and research part of the congress, special attention will be given to ensuring that all participants have a pleasant stay – the venue, the thermal spa Thermana Laško, and the town of Laško with its surroundings offer great opportunities for accompanying activities during the congress.

Dear Sir, dear Madam,

The Scientific Committee of the 7^th International Congress of Medical Assessors of Slovenia (7MKMIS) will strive to present an insightful event with topics that maintain the continuity of the previous congresses and expand it with new topics in the fields of insurance medicine, occupational rehabilitation, return to work and others.  

The main subject of the congress will be related to the assessment of the work ability of patients with mental disorders. Renowned speakers in the field of insurance medicine will present the latest developments in the diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of mental disorders in view of the assessments of temporary incapacity for work, permanent disability and interventions that promote return to work and occupational rehabilitation possibilities for patients suffering from various mental disorders. Our wish is to present the subject to as many medical assessors and doctors working in the fields related to the mentioned contents as possible, and other professionals interested in the topic.

Other areas of insurance medicine will be presented as well, such as health insurance system policies, justice security and financial supervisions of health services. We will endeavour to present the content from a practical point of view with the intention of facilitating its implementation into everyday practices.

The various aspects of the main congress topic will be presented at the plenary sessions. Additional topics, presentations and discussions will be held at parallel sessions.

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia, the Pension and Disability Insurance Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, the Association of Providers of Employment Rehabilitation in the Republic of Slovenia and in cooperation with Thermana Laško, I would therefore like to kindly invite you to the 7^th International Congress of Medical Assessors, which will take place in Laško, Slovenia, between 11 and 12 April 2024.
